Feng Shui BathroomsFeng Shui, also known as "geomancy," is an ancient Chinese spiritual discipline used to promote health, happiness and prosperity.  It is a process of energy channeling and aligning positive energy, bringing alignment and boost energy in our "place of work and living" (Joseph Lowe, 2008).

The five Feng Shui elements water, wood, fire, metal, and earth help balance the competing energies by negating and supporting each others energy, regardless if this is at your home, the office, or your vehicle. Indeed, Feng Shui is not limited to buildings and residences, but can be found everywhere, and can even be aligning positive energy at the park through a well balanced fountain.

The words Feng Shui literally mean 'wind' and 'water' and represent a lifestyle mainly concerned with understanding the relationships between nature and ourselves.

Accepting Chi as a ‘cosmic breath and energy’ will allow us to live peacefully, and in harmony within our environment. Living in balance ‘with’ rather than ‘against’ nature benefits both humans and the environment. This philosophy has become quite desirable, even in the Western world, and is spreading rapidly throughout many facets of life, including interior decorating.

Many people stressed by today’s hectic lifestyle are searching for ways to incorporate peace and harmony in their home. Through Feng Shui, they are able to create a balanced environment for them, friends and family, a place where positive energy can flow freely and fortune is at their side!

The meaning of Crystals in Feng Shui

The meaning of Crystals in Feng ShuiOnce formed in nature by the solidification of chemical substances, these vibrant gems are defined by beauty, and have many fascinating significances and purposes. Indeed, crystals have many uses, from adorning a beautiful engagement ring, to imperative industrial applications. Crystals are also recognized as having healing and spiritual powers, and tare used to improve life and health in Feng Shui.

The word crystal comes from the Greek word krystallos, meaning "frozen light", which is not really applicable when it comes to the magical power crystals do incorporate. In Feng Shui, quartz crystals are widely used to amplify energy, vibrations, thoughts and feelings. They are used at home, in the office or business, and even in vehicles.

Placing a crystal in the corner of a room will encourage the universal life force to flow through the room freely. If the energy force is disturbed it can affect health, thoughts and abundance of wealth.

entertainmentFeng Shui practitioners recognize crystals as tools, bearing different applications. They are used in specific areas of life that need to be improved. For example, if you have been unsuccessfully job hunting for a while, and are becoming discouraged, harnessing the energy of carnelian crystals in the southern sector of your home may help you anchor yourself back in reality. On the other hand, if you are looking for love and romance, or need your broken or scarred heart to heal, rose quartz may do the trick.

Crystals represent an excellent approach of bringing the ancient Feng Shui placement method into modern-day homes. When using crystals to stimulate chi, the energy symbolizing life, health, prosperity and other positive aspects of life, be aware that it may take some time before the subtle energies of the crystals settle in. Be patient, and before you know it your home will be transformed, moving you closer to the universal balance, you so desire.

Feng Shui for your Office

Computer Desks UK based home office furniture store with a wide range of computer "desk & home office furniture" (Sasa Arthur, 2009) was just the sort of place I needed to look in order to bring a sense of feng shui into my cluttered office building. Upon finding the perfect store, I began my search for office items that would make my office feel like it was at the center of the universe. Feng shui tends to do that for a home or office, it can turn your workplace into a garden of the gods.

This particular furniture store was highly organized, so the adventure of purchasing my furniture was both easy and delightful. The salesman who helped me had never heard of feng shui, so I had to explain to him that this was a fine art, the means of putting the things of heaven and earth together in a way that would inspire the office workers, and increase their productivity. He immediately understood my quest, and we ventured forth together throughout the store, noting the color, size and overall comfort of each individual piece of furniture.

We decided on a color scheme that would help the workers to focus on success - green, so they would be mindful of cash flow and work hard for their money, and red, so they would be passionate about their goals. We chose desks and cabinets in a light oak, so they would not feel overly confined in their work space. And lastly, we shook hands. Ending a business venture in a handshake is the feng shui way of saying "All is well in our endeavors."

Feng Shui Bathrooms

Zen and Feng Shui "friendly bathrooms" (Brian Goodstone, 2009) have lots of natural or filtered light, efficient ventilation and are always sparkly clean and, as with any other room in a Feng Shui enhanced home, the design of the bathroom has to be tied to the elements of water, earth, fire, wood, and metal.

Feng shui is the Chinese art or practice of arranging things in a way to create harmony with the spiritual forces that reside in the objects. It is based on the faith in yin and yang patterns and the flow of chi.

Our Bedroom

book"The most personal living space in a home is the bedroom. Despite its importance it is often also the most neglected room in the house, no doubt because it is off limits to guests.
When designing the perfect bedroom many aspects have to be considered. Wall color, flooring, furniture, bedding, window treatments, lighting and decorations, and all textures and patterns have to blend together properly in order to be able to create a healthy and harmonious environment." (Cloe Raven, 2008)
